I always remember the Sopranos episode where mob-wife Carmella wants to discipline teenage daughter Meadow more sternly than murdering capo Tony does. Tony reels her back with a wise assessment of the true situation:
"Whoa, ease up there," he tells Carmella. "If you try that and she figures out we're really powerless, then we're fucked."
