From experience, I can tell you that this does not work as teenagers are completely oblivious to hints. No, the only thing that MIGHT work would involve high pitched shrieking and throwing of the empty container at their head.

I have tried it all. The only thing that really works is a combination of surrender and cash. Which is really just a more expensive form of surrender.

You've hit upon a key problem here, which is that this particular hint, translated from English to teen, actually comes out as "My mom needs to buy more milk."
